Glór: Breathing New Life into Ancient Irish Song

I grew up in the small village of Carrig-on-Bannow, on the windswept coast of Wexford, Ireland—a place steeped in story and sound. Music was everywhere: in the lilts of the neighbors’ voices, in céilís that filled the community hall, in the quiet moments when the radio played softly after dinner. I was raised with a deep love for the Irish folk songs that shaped our identity: songs of love and loss, rebellion and resilience, humor and heartbreak.

Now, after years working as a Music Director and Composer across the U.S. and abroad, I’m returning to those roots—but with a new voice.

Glór (the Irish word for “voice”) is a musical project that reimagines traditional Irish folk songs through a contemporary lens—merging the soul of folk with the storytelling power and stylings of musical theatre, orchestration, and modern arrangements. This is not a reinvention, but a revival. A chance to preserve the emotional depth of these timeless songs while making them accessible and resonant for a new generation.
